Memory verse:
The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

Bread from Heaven

Big idea: God gives us what we need, day by day.
Memory verse:
Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
Exodus 16:4 (KJV)Ask: What came in the evening? Quails.
Game: Gather the Manna (about 10 minutes)

God Will Provide
Genesis 22:1–19 · story film
God tested Abraham, telling him to offer his only son Isaac on a mountain in the land of Moriah. As they went up, Isaac carried the wood and asked, “Where is the lamb for a burnt offering?” and Abraham answered, “God will provide himself a lamb.” At the altar the angel of the LORD called out of heaven to stop him, and God provided a ram caught in a thicket in the stead of his son; long after, God gave His own Son, Jesus, the Lamb of God (John 1:29; Romans 8:32).
Big idea: God provides what we need, and He gave Jesus, the Lamb, for us.
Memory verse:
And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.
Genesis 22:8 (KJV)Ask: What did Isaac carry up the mountain? The wood for the burnt offering (Genesis 22:6).
Game: Find the Ram (about 10 minutes)

Ruth in the Fields of Boaz
Ruth 2:1–4:17 · story film
Ruth went out to glean barley behind the reapers, and she came to the field of Boaz, a kinsman of Naomi’s husband. Boaz was kind to her because of her love for Naomi: he let her glean among the sheaves and told his young men to let fall handfuls on purpose for her. Later Boaz redeemed the family’s land and married Ruth, and their son Obed became the grandfather of King David, from whose family Jesus was born (Matthew 1:5–16).
Big idea: God takes care of those who come to trust under His wings.
Memory verse:
The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.

God took care of His servant in a lonely place, just as He had promised.
Big idea: God takes care of those who trust and obey Him.
Memory verse:
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

1 Kings 17:8–24 · story film
God sent Elijah to a poor widow in Zarephath who had only a handful of meal and a little oil left for herself and her son. Elijah said, “Fear not,” and asked her to make him a little cake first, for God promised that the barrel of meal would not waste nor the cruse of oil fail until the rain came. She obeyed, and they ate many days; and later, when her son fell sick and stopped breathing, the LORD heard Elijah’s prayer and the child revived.

Memory verse:
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Elisha told her to borrow empty vessels from all her neighbours, shut the door, and pour from her one pot of oil. The oil kept flowing until every vessel was full, and Elisha told her to sell it and pay her debt.
Big idea: God can take the little we have and make it more than enough.
