Shine with the Light of Jesus. Jesus is the Light of the world, and those who follow Him shine His light.

Theme verse

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.John 8:12 (KJV)

The five days

  1. Day 1 · Morning Light

God made everything, and He made me.

Bible story: God Made Everything (Genesis 1:1–2:3)

Apply it: The first thing God made was light: “Let there be light.” Everything He made was good, and He made people in His own image. You are not an accident; you were made by God and for God. Because He made us, we can thank Him, trust Him and care for His world and the people in it.

  2. Day 2 · Pillar of Fire

    God lights the way.

Bible story: Crossing the Red Sea (Exodus 13:17–14:31)

Apply it: God led His people with a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night, and then He made a path through the sea. When you don’t know which way to go, God’s Word is a lamp to your feet. Follow His light one step at a time, even when the path doesn’t look possible.

  3. Day 3 · Lamplight Square

Jesus is the Light of the world.

Bible story: The Man Born Blind (John 9:1–41)

Apply it: The man had never seen anything until Jesus opened his eyes. Then he said, “One thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.” Jesus opens hearts to see who He really is. You don’t need every answer to tell others what Jesus has done for you.

  4. Day 4 · Easter Dawn

Jesus died for my sins and rose again. Darkness could not win.

Bible story: Mary in the Garden (John 20:1–18)

Apply it: Mary came to the tomb while it was still dark, weeping, and found it empty. Then Jesus called her by name. The darkness of sin and death could not hold Him. Jesus died for our sins and rose again so we could walk in His light. He knows your name too, and He calls you to follow Him.

  5. Day 5 · Shine Street

Jesus changes hearts so we can shine for Him.

Bible story: Saul Meets Jesus (Acts 9:1–19 · Acts 22:6–16)

Apply it: A light from heaven stopped Saul on the road, and Jesus changed him from an enemy of Christians into Paul, who told the world about Jesus. No one is too far gone for Jesus to change. Once His light is in us, He wants us to shine: “Let your light so shine before men.”
