Cornerstone Construction Co. VBS
Build your life on Jesus. Jesus is the cornerstone and the one sure foundation for every life.
Theme verse
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.1 Corinthians 3:11 (KJV)
The five days
Day 1 · Blueprint Day
I can trust and obey God.
Bible story: Noah Builds the Ark (Genesis 6:5–22)
Apply it: Noah built a huge boat on dry ground because God said so, long before a drop of rain fell. People probably laughed, but Noah trusted and obeyed. Obeying often comes before understanding. What has God already told us in His Word that we can obey today, even when it’s hard?
Day 2 · Gift Day
I give my best to God.
Bible story: Building the Tabernacle (Exodus 25:1–9 · 35:20–29 · 40:33–38)
Apply it: The people brought gifts with willing hearts until the builders said, “Stop, we have more than enough!” God doesn’t need our things, but He loves a willing heart. Your best might be your effort at school, your kindness, your singing or your offering. Give it to God gladly.
Day 3 · Rock or Sand Day
I build my life on Jesus’ words.
Bible story: The Wise and Foolish Builders (Matthew 7:24–29 · Luke 6:46–49)
Apply it: Both houses faced the same storm. The difference was the foundation. Jesus said the wise builder is the one who hears His words and does them. Listening isn’t enough; we have to do it. Pick one thing Jesus said, like “forgive” or “love your enemies”, and build on it this week.
Day 4 · Cornerstone Day
Jesus died and rose again. He is my sure foundation.
Bible story: The Crucifixion and Resurrection Story (Matthew 26–28 · Mark 14–16 · Luke 22–24 · John 18–20)
Apply it: A building is only as strong as its cornerstone. Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again, and the Bible calls Him the chief corner stone. When we trust Him, our lives are built on something that can never be shaken. Anyone can build on Him today.
Day 5 · Teamwork Day
We work together and pray.
Bible story: Nehemiah Builds the Wall (Nehemiah 2:1–20 · 4:6–23 · 6:15–16)
Apply it: When enemies mocked, Nehemiah prayed, and the people kept building, each family working on the part by its house. The wall was finished in just fifty-two days. Big things happen when God’s people pray and work together. Where can you pitch in at home, at church or with friends?
