Big idea: God watches over His people, even in dangerous times.
Memory verse:
And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.

The Flood

Then the LORD shut him in, the fountains of the great deep broke open, and rain fell forty days and forty nights until even the high hills were covered. Everything outside was lost, but Noah and all who were with him in the ark were kept safe.
Big idea: God keeps His people safe through the storm.
Memory verse:
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Psalm 46:1 (KJV)Ask: How did the animals go into the ark? Two and two, the male and the female (Genesis 7:9).

Lot Escapes from Sodom
Genesis 18:16–33 · 19:12–29 · story film
When the LORD told Abraham how grievous the sin of Sodom was, Abraham drew near and prayed for the city, asking God to spare it even for ten righteous people. Two angels warned Lot, and when he lingered, they took him, his wife and his two daughters by the hand and led them out, “the LORD being merciful unto him.” They were told not to look back, but Lot’s wife looked back and became a pillar of salt; God remembered Abraham and brought Lot out safe.
Big idea: God is merciful to rescue us, so we follow Him and do not look back.
Memory verse:
Remember Lot’s wife.
Luke 17:32 (KJV)Ask: What did Abraham do when he heard about Sodom? He drew near and prayed for the city (Genesis 18:23–32).
Game: Don’t Look Back! (about 8 minutes)

Ruth in the Fields of Boaz
Ruth 2:1–4:17 · story film
Ruth went out to glean barley behind the reapers, and she came to the field of Boaz, a kinsman of Naomi’s husband. Boaz was kind to her because of her love for Naomi: he let her glean among the sheaves and told his young men to let fall handfuls on purpose for her. Later Boaz redeemed the family’s land and married Ruth, and their son Obed became the grandfather of King David, from whose family Jesus was born (Matthew 1:5–16).
Big idea: God takes care of those who come to trust under His wings.
Memory verse:
The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.
Ruth 2:12 (KJV)Ask: In whose field did Ruth glean? The field of Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech (Ruth 2:3).
Game: Gleaning Relay (about 10 minutes)

The Fiery Furnace
Daniel 3:1–30 · story film
King Nebuchadnezzar set up a golden image and commanded everyone to bow down to it or be cast into a burning fiery furnace. Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego would not bow, and they told the king their God was able to deliver them, “But if not,” they still would not serve his gods. The king saw four men walking loose in the fire, and the three came out without even a hair of their heads singed.
Big idea: We can trust God and obey Him, and He is with us even in the fire.
Memory verse:
If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
Daniel 3:17 (KJV)Ask: What did the king command everyone to do when the music played? Fall down and worship the golden image (Daniel 3:5).
Game: We Will Not Bow (about 8 minutes)

Daniel in the Lions’ Den
Daniel 6:1–28 · story film
Daniel served King Darius so faithfully that the jealous princes could find no fault in him, so they had the king sign a law that for thirty days no one could ask a petition of any god or man except the king. Daniel still knelt at his open window three times a day to pray and give thanks, and he was cast into the den of lions. God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, and in the morning Daniel was taken up unhurt, because he believed in his God.
Big idea: We can keep praying and trusting God, and He is able to deliver us.
Memory verse:
Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

Game: Sleeping Lions (about 8 minutes)
